Maintenance Mechanic

Piscataway, NJ

OBJECTIVE

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for day-to-day equipment preventative maintenance and troubleshooting at all client facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Post-secondary education in related field

Experience & Skills:

• 2-5 years experience in an industrial maintenance role, preferably within the food industry
• Mechanical and Electrical Troubleshooting, Maintenance and Overhauls (Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Gearboxes, Motors etc)
• Experience reading, comprehending and utilizing blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings for industrial millwrighting
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and perform maintenance on various equipment
• Ability to work at heights and within confined spaces
• Knowledge and understanding in the use of welding processes and equipment, drill press, packaging machinery, trailers, scales, grinders, hand and power tools, impact guns, bench grinders, and band saws.
• Positive attitude and ability to problem solve and multi-task
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Knowledge of MS Office
• Ability to travel to three all facilities as required – Piscataway.
• Good knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs repetitively and stand on feet for majority of the working day
• Flexibility and willingness to work overtime as required and willingness to work any shift (1st,2nd or 3rd)

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Execute preventative maintenance program as per schedule on all equipment, building and machinery.
2. Conduct diagnostic checks, troubleshooting, and repair for all equipment, plant wide (mechanical and electrical)
3. Report all health and safety risks to Maintenance Manager.
4. Install, align, take apart and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, motors, generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
5. Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery as required.
6. Operate welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools as required and authorized.
7. Perform general building maintenance.
8. Work in a safe manner in accordance with all company policies and procedures as well as occupational health and safety laws.
9. Other responsibilities as required by the Maintenance Manager.
